HERMENEUTICS AND METHODOLOGY: DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGIES FOR INTERPRETATIVE RESEARCH.
This project intends to advance in the development of methodological tools for hermeneutic and interpretative research. To that end, the characteristics that hermeneutic hypotheses present (or should present) are examined, along with their potential for verification and the basis and criteria for their operationalization. It will be assumed that the analyzed material in a hermeneutic hypothesis will have the status of a signifier and that said hypothesis will be enunciated as a conjecture as to the meaning that is expected to emerge after its analysis. In this perspective, it will be of interest to ascertain if the operationalization can be elucidated by the "data grammar" proposed by Samaja (1993) or if additional specifications are required. This research will also examine the logical and semiotical foundations involved in the processes of codification and categorization, such as they have been formulated in Strauss and Glaser's "Grounded theory" (1967). Finally, in consideration for the fact that the research occurs in the context of the Psychological Research Methodology II course, an evaluation component will be proposed which aims at identifying and characterizing the difficulties that present themselves in the application of these methodological tools during the elaboration of griten assignments by the students of the course.
