Prevención en Trastornos Alimentarios y Obesidad: Evaluación de la Eficacia de una Intervención Integrada.

Resumen:

Este proyecto se propone evaluar la eficacia de una intervención orientada a la prevención de los trastornos alimentarios y la obesidad en mujeres adolescentes. Para ello, se diseñará una intervención basada en la teoría de la disonancia cognitiva y en el enfoque educativo de alfabetización en medios. Se incluirán actividades interactivas que se focalizarán en reducir factores de riesgo comunes en trastornos alimentarios y obesidad, así como también en promover patrones alimentarios y de actividad física saludables y sostenibles en el tiempo. La muestra estará conformada por 76 mujeres entre 13 y 18 años, estudiantes de escuelas medias de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. La intervención será implementada con un formato grupal en el transcurso de tres encuentros. El impacto de la intervención se evaluará a través de los siguientes instrumentos: Cuestionario sociodemográfico, de sintomas y factores de riesgo de trastornos alimentarios y obesidad, Eating Disorder Inventory-3, Contour Drawing Rating Scale y Cuestionario de Influencia del Modelo Estético Corporal-26. Estos instrumentos serán administrados pre/post intervención y seguimiento a los seis meses.

EATING DISORDERS AND OBESITY PREVENTION: EVALUATION OF THE EFFICACY OF AN INTEGRATED INTERVENTION
The purpose of this project is to evaluate the efficacy of an intervention aimed at preventing eating disorders and obesity in adolescent girls. In order to achieve this goal, an intervention based on the principles of the cognitive dissonance theory and on the media literacy approach to education, will be designed. Interactive activities focused on reducing risk factors for eating disorders and obesity, as well as on promoting healthy eating patterns and physical activity sustainable over time, will be included. The sample will consist of 76 female students aged between 13 and 18 years from high schools of Buenos Aires. The intervention will be implemented in the course of three sessions in a group format.
The impact of the intervention will be evaluated with the following instruments: Sociodemographic data, symptoms and risk factors of eating disorders and obesity Questionnaire, Eating Disorder Inventory-3; Contour Drawing Rating Scale and Questionnaire of Influence of the Aesthetic Corporal Model-26. Assesment will take place pre/post intervention and at six months follow-up.
