EL CONOCIMIENTO DE “DOMINIO” MORAL EN LA PSICOLOGÍA DEL DESARROLLO. UN ANÁLISIS DE LAS TESIS DE TURIEL

RESUMEN
Este artículo se propone plantear los problemas que suscita el conocimiento de dominio moral propuesto por Turiel, al compararlo con la teoría piagetiana de la que proviene y con la perspectiva contextualista. En primer lugar, vamos a presentar los criterios utilizados por este autor para definir la especificidad del dominio moral y para diferenciarlo del convencional, así como los presupuestos teóricos que le permitieron tal diferenciación, especificando los criterios utilizados y las dificultades conceptuales propias de esta perspectiva. En segundo lugar, se identificarán la notas que distinguen esta versión “constructivista” de dominio de la herencia piagetiana. En tercer lugar, se contrastará la perspectiva turieliana con la contextualista, dado que su confrontación en términos teóricos y empíricos es característica de la situación de la investigación contemporánea en psicología moral. Sobre esta base, replantearemos las condiciones de posibilidad de la psicología del desarrollo moral: la teoría del conocimiento moral, por un lado, y la filosofía moral, por el otro.

ABSTRACT
DOMAIN” MORAL KNOWLEDGE IN DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY. AN ANALYSIS OF TURIEL’S THESES
The aim of this paper is consider the shortcomings of Turiel’s theory about domain social knowledge, comparing it to Piagetian perspective –from which it roots- and to contextualism. Firstly, the criteria used by Turiel for the definition of moral domain and its differentiation with conventional domain will be presented. Also suggested will be the theoretical assumptions that made possible this differentiation, with an especial emphasis in the conceptual problems of Turielian perspective. Second, the ideas that differentiate this “constructivist” domain perspective with Piagetian ones will be identified. Third, Turiel perspective and contextualism will be critically compared, since this theoretical and empirical confrontation is representative of contemporary discussion in moral psychology research. On this basis, the condition of possibility of a moral development psychology will be presented, with an especial emphasis in moral knowledge theory and, by the other hand, moral philosophy.
