Este trabajo se inscribe en una serie destinada a la posible formalización de la variedad clínica de la psicosis a partir de la teoría de nudos desplegada por Lacan en el período final de su enseñanza. en esta oportunidad, propongo revisar la melancolía y la manía, en sus semejanzas y diferencias. Los fundamentos en los que se sostiene esta propuesta son tres: primero, que para Lacan la estructura, a partir de 1972, es anudamiento real, simbólico e imaginario; segundo, que establece la posibilidad de formalizar las categorías clínicas con dicho recurso cuando afirma que “hay tipos de nudos”; y tercero, que la distinción de los tres registros, su concepción del lenguaje y la introducción de la perspectiva estructural, configuran en su enseñanza una topología equivalente a las tópicas con que Freud formaliza sus categorías clínicas. por último, propongo examinar algunas consecuencias de aquello que Lacan afirma cuando sostiene que la manía es un sinthome.

This work registers in a series dedicated to clarify the formalization of the clinical variety of the psychosis starting from the theory of knots for Lacan in the final period of its teaching. in this opportunity, I intend to revise the melancholy and the mania, in their likeness and differences. The foundations in those that this proposal is sustained are three: first that Lacan stops the structure, starting from 1972, it is real, symbolic and imaginary knotting; second that he leaves established the possibility to formalize the clinical categories with this resource when he affirms that "there are types of knots"; and third that the distinction of the three registrations, their conception of the language and the introduction of the structural perspective, they configure in their teaching an equivalent topology to the topical ones with which Freud formalizes his clinical categories. Lastly, I intend to extract some consequences of that that Lacan affirms when it sustains that the mania is a sinthome.
