ABSTRACT
The Right to Privacy in Children. A Constructivist And Institutional Approach
This article presents the first progresses of a research about conceptual construction, in children at 7 to 12 years of age, of right to intimacy in the school practice setting. First, we justify originality of the posed topic, by evaluating the state of the art and by suggesting a perspective of the “critical” constructivism. Thus, it is about situating the children’s concepts in the setting of institutional practices intervention. Secondly, we describe objectives, methodology, and categories proposed to evaluate the information. In the third place, we expound the first results of data analyses, which evidence the conditioned nature of conceptualizations of the right to intimacy. Finaly, we discuss its extent, based on social knowledge formation theory.
Keywords: Intimacy right, Conditionated right, Conceptual construction, Institutional constraints.
