Eigenbezieuhung: elementary phenomenon and “self-reference of transference”

RESUMEN


Palabras clave: The German term Eigenbezieuhung, usually translated as personal signification or self-reference, and the different concepts with which it is used, vary according to the context in which they are referred to. As regards this term, the interesting point of this article is based on two fundamental points that represent one movement in clinical practice: on the one hand, the search for theoretical precision and conceptual specification; on the other hand, the intention to specify the possible consequences that can be caused in practice by such differences. Two relevant concepts are analysed here. One, called kranfkhafter Eigenbeziehung, or personal pathological signification. The other is another kind of self-reference which has different effects and which is referred to in the text as “self-reference of transference”. Finally, two clinical cases are presented.

SUMMARY
El término alemán Eigenbeziehung, habitualmente traducido como significación personal, o autorreferencia, y los diferentes conceptos en los que es utilizado, varían de acuerdo al contexto en que es referido. A propósito de este término, el interés del trabajo se apoya en dos fundamentos que en la práctica clínica representan un mismo movimiento: por un lado, la búsqueda de precisión teórica y especificidad conceptual; por otro, el intento de dar cuenta de las consecuencias que puedan acarrear para la práctica tales puntualizaciones. Se caracterizan la krankhafter Eigenbeziehung, o significación personal mórbida; y, también, una autorreferencia de otro tipo, con implicancias clínicas diversas, que en el texto es nombrada como “autorreferencia de transferencia”. Por último, se consignan fragmentos de dos casos clínicos.
