Aplicación de la Teoría de Respuesta al Ítem al Análisis de la Continuidad entre Neuroticismo Normal y su Variante Desadaptativa.

Se plantea como objetivo el estudio de la continuidad entre el Neuroticismo y su variante desadaptativa (Afectividad Negativa) definida en el Modelo de los Cinco Grandes Factores para los Trastornos de la Personalidad según la quinta versión del DSM. Siguiendo desarrollos de vanguardia en psicometría, se aplicará la Teoría de Respuesta al Ítem como soporte metodológico. El Neuroticismo refleja la disposición a sentir afectos negativos de manera frecuente y/o intensa. En su extremo desadaptativo, la Afectividad Negativa remite a experiencias afectivas más intensas, comportamientos autolesivos y vínculos interpersonales de dependencia. Se administrará a aproximadamente 1000 sujetos un protocolo con los ítems de Neuroticismo del Inventario IPIP-NEO y los ítems de Afectividad Negativa del Inventario PID-5. Se verificará la unidimensionalidad de los ítems mediante un Análisis Factorial Exploratorio. Se calibrarán los ítems en la misma escala con el Modelo de Respuesta Graduada operando el programa IRTPRO. Se compararán los parámetros de localización de los ítems y las Funciones de Información de los Tests para estudiar en qué niveles del rasgo resulta más preciso cada inventario. Posteriormente se efectuará una simulación post hoc para estudiar si una administración adaptativa puede resultar más eficiente que un formato tradicional.

APPLICATION OF ITEM RESPONSE THEORY TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE CONTINUITY BETWEEN NORMAL NEUROTICISM AND ITS MALADAPTIVE VARIANT.

The objective is the analysis of the continuity between Neuroticism and its maladaptive variant (Negative Affectivity) defined in the Five Factors Model for Personality Disorders postulated in the fifth version of the DSM. Following avant-garde developments in psychometry, the Item Response Theory will be applied as a methodological support. Neuroticism reflects the willingness to feel negative affections frequently and/or intensely. In its maladaptive extreme, the Negative Affectivity refers more intense affective experiences, self-harming behaviors and interpersonal bonds of dependence. Approximately 1000 subjects will be administered a protocol with the Neuroticism items of the IPIP-NEO Inventory and the Negative Affectivity items of the PID-5 Inventory. The unidimensionality of the items will be verified by means of an Exploratory Factorial Analysis. The items will be calibrated on the same scale with the Graded Response Model operating the IRTPRO program. Item location parameters and Test Information Functions will be compared to study at which trait levels each inventory is most reliability. A post hoc simulation will then be carried out to study whether adaptive management can be more efficient than a traditional format.
