Measurement of Conscientiousness domain of the Five Factor Model applying
Item Response Theory
Resumen del tema en inglés: The objective of the project is to calibrate
a set of items for the measurement of Conscientiousness according to the definition
of the Five Factor Model (FFM). The Item Response Theory (IRT) will be applied
as methodological support. Conscientiousness manifests the capacity for self-regulation,
taking into account both proactive and inhibitory aspects of behavior. Due to
the lack of consensus among the authors of the model regarding the facets of the
domain, a broad position will be adopted to construct the conceptual map. Items
will be selected from different instruments and new items will be generated. The
latter will be evaluated by expert judges and analyzed in pilot tests. They will
then be administered to large samples of the general population. The factorial
structure will be studied by exploratory and confirmatory analyses. IRT will be
applied after analyzing the unidimensionality of the domain and isolated facets.
The items will be calibrated with the Graduated Response Model using the IRTPRO
program. Evidence of convergent validity will be obtained and reliability studies
will be conducted with classical and IRT indicators. The items with an adequate
fit could be used for the future construction of an item bank and its implementation
as a computerized adaptive test. Palabras Clave en Inglés 1) CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
