Prevention and Postvention Actions in Children and Adolescents.

Resumen:
Se analizan problemas relacionados con la identificación oportuna de niños y adolescente en riesgo, por presentar algún tipo de trastorno en su desarrollo psicológico (afectivo, cognitivo, psicosocial) y a los que se debe brindar dos tipos de apoyo psicológico profesional: intervenciones de tipo preventivo o las denominadas asistenciales o postventivas.

Tales problemas deben ser analizados teniendo en cuenta cuatro niveles: a) en relación con las características personales individuales; b) el contexto social inmediato, en especial el sistema familiar; c) el contexto ecológico global o comunitario en el que viven; d) los patrones sociales y culturales en base a los cuales concretaron sus procesos de socialización primaria y secundaria.

Abstract:
PREVENTION AND POSTVENTION ACTIONS IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS.
Problems related with correct identification of children and adolescents considered at risk because they are showing some kind of impairment in their cognitive, affective or social development, are analyzed. Their needs demand two types of interventions: preventive or psychological assistance in terms of postvention.

We propose that those impairments have to be analyzed integrating four levels: a) studying personal or individual characteristics; b) focusing on the inmediate social context, mainly in the familiar system; c) considering the global ecological and communitary habitat where they perform their daily activities; d) taking into account social and cultural patterns that have influenced their primary and secondary socialization processes.
