Resumen:
Este artículo brinda una breve descripción de la modalidad de abordaje -preventiva y de atención- de los alumnos que no rinden académicamente a nivel universitario en los Estados Unidos. El objetivo es aportar datos que puedan promover una discusión respecto de esta problemática en nuestro país. A modo de ejemplo incluye una referencia a los centros y programas de atención de una institución y su modo de funcionamiento. Pone especial énfasis en los diferentes momentos de la consulta y las características de la evaluación psico-educacional dentro de este proceso.

Abstract:
HANDLING PROBLEMS OF COLLEGE`S STUDENTS WHO DON`T PERFORM ACADEMICALLY: PREVENTION AND ASSISTANCE.
This paper offers a brief description of how colleges in the United States handle the problem of students who don't perform academically, in a preventive and service oriented manner. Its objective is to provide information that may encourage a discussion about this same problem in our country. As an example, it includes references to the centers and programs which offer services at one institution, and their functioning. It places special emphasis on the different moments of the consultation and the characteristics of the psycho-educational assessment within this process.
