This research is interested in contributing from an epidemiological
perspective that includes Mental Health and Gender perspective
contribution, to the explanation of sex differential incidence
of cardiovascular disease in young adults. In Argentina,
cardiovascular diseases constitute the second cause of mortality
from 35 to 55 years old people, and the first cause of men’s
mortality for that age stage. The proportion is 3 men per
woman. Survivors after an accute episode often suffer of
labor incapability and difficulties in labor and familiar
reincorporation. Cardiovascular diseases are considered
as chronical and non-transmissible, it is widely known that
in its etiology we found multiple interactions between host
and environment. Lifestyle and personality are considered
as having strong weight in causallity net. Cardiovascular
disease are spread out considered as a men’s disease,
increasing its incidence since 35 years, with strong connection
to psychosocial factors. Therewith, it is conssidered that
gender construction of femenine and masculine identity of
those patiens, from a Mental Health and Gender perspective
can contribute to the explanation of sex differential incidence
of cardiovascular disease in young adults. Incorporating
at this stage of the research, the comparison of its working
ways in different social classes.
