Resumen en español:

Se realizará un estudio cuali-cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo con el objetivo de identificar la relación entre el conocimiento de la patología y sus complicaciones, las actitudes y creencias hacia la enfermedad, las estrategias de afrontamiento, el locus de control y las prácticas de auotatención y autocuidado en pacientes con diagnóstico de diabetes tipo II que concurren a los consultorios externos de diabetología de hospitales públicos dependientes del GCBA.
Durante el abordaje cualitativo, se realizarán entrevistas para conocer las actitudes y creencias de los pacientes diabéticos sobre la patología. Los resultados se utilizarán para construir una escala de Likert.
En la etapa cuantitativa, se tomará una muestra probabilística al azar sistemático de  pacientes que serán encuestados con: cuestionario de conocimientos, escala de locus de control, inventario de estilos de afrontamiento, escala de frecuencias para evaluar las prácticas de autoatención y autocuidado y la escala de Likert sobre actitudes y creencias respecto a la patología.
Los resultados serán analizados estadísticamente para lo cual se utilizarán análisis descriptivos y pruebas bi y multivariadas, según el nivel de medición de las variables.
Se espera que los resultados orienten sobre posibles intervenciones en relación a este tipo de pacientes.

THE RELATIONSHIP AMONG THE PATHOLOGY´ KNOWLEDGE AND ITS TROUBLES, ATTITUDES AND BELIEVES ABOUT THE ILLNESS, THE WAYS OF COPING, THE LOCUS OF CONTROL, AND THE SELF ATTENTION AND SELF-CARE IN DIABETICS’ TYPE II PATIENTS THAT MAKE THEIR MEDICAL CHECKS IN THE PUBLICS HOSPITALS OF BUENOS AIRES. A CUALI QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH OF DESCRIPTIVE TYPE.
A cuali quantitative research will be made in order to identify the relationship among the pathology´ knowledge and its troubles, attitudes and believes about the illness, the ways of coping, the locus of control, and the self attention and self-care in diabetics’ type II patients that make their medical checks in the publics’ hospitals of Buenos Aires
While qualitative stage, interviews to know attitudes and beliefs of diabetics´ patients toward their own pathology will be made and the results of this stage will be used to built a Likert scale.
During quantitative stage, it will be take a probabilistic systematic random sample of diabetic patients that will be requested to fill in a questionnaire about knowledge, a locus of control scale, the ways of coping inventory, frequency scales to measure self attention and self care, and an attitude and beliefs Likert scale about diabetes illness.
The results will have a statistic treatment with descriptive analyses and tests bi and multivariate according to the measurement of variables.
The hope about results, it is to be able to make an improvement in ways of helping people who suffer that disease.
