“THIEF KID” STEREOTYPE: SUBJECTIVITY AND CIRCULARITY
This project integrates the research proposal UBACyT 2016-2019, under evaluation,
entitled Juvenile criminal devices as transition space. Factors affecting the
circularity of young people staying there. The main purpose of the mentioned
research is to determine the historical-political, cultural and libidinal factors
affecting the circularity, in terms of readmission in and between juvenile criminal
devices, of young offenders of criminal law. The proposed approach to the main
objective arises from three axes: the singular, the group and the institutional
one. By virtue of this, work arises here mainly around one of these axis, and
it´s the one that points to the singularity, in subjectivity terms, of
young offenders of criminal law. The following working hypothesis will guide
the research: identification with "thief kid" stereotype produces
subjective effects that affects the circularity of youth between juvenile criminal
devices. To such an effect, considering the scanty existing investigations that
specifically deal with this topic, the study will be based on an exploratory
design and on the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.
