El presente estudio tiene como propósito investigar variables socioemocionales y sociocognitivas asociadas a estigma social frente al VIH/SIDA en personas no afectadas y afectadas. Se analizará y describirá la relación entre emociones morales, competencias socioemocionales, ?Creencia en un Mundo Justo? y conductas estigmatizantes integrando los aportes de la Psicología Jurídica. Se utilizará el marco teórico propuesto por la Psicología Social Aplicada, en tanto el fenómeno del VIH/SIDA es asociado social y culturalmente a estigma, entendido como prejuicio social y conductas discriminatorias hacia las personas afectadas por esta enfermedad. Se incluirán los aportes de la Evaluación Psicológica, con el fin de diseñar y construir instrumentos psicométricos ecológicamente validados que permitan analizar el objeto de estudio. Mediante esta investigación se pretende profundizar el conocimiento actual acerca de los factores psicosociales y emocionales que promueven y sostienen conductas estigmatizantes en personas no afectadas y estigma sentido en personas afectadas. Se espera que los resultados a obtener sean de utilidad para reducir el estigma social frente el VIH/SIDA, contribuyendo a hacer más efectivas las acciones preventivas y a mejorar la calidad de vida y el tratamiento de las personas que viven con la enfermedad.

STUDY OF THE RELATION BETWEEN ?BELIEF IN A JUST WORLD?, SOCIOEMOTIONAL COMPETENCES AND STIGMA AGAINST HIV/AIDS

This research seeks to investigate socioemotional and sociocognitive variables associated to social stigma against HIV/AIDS in people living with or without this condition. Particularly, the aim is to analyze and describe the relation between moral emotions, socioemotional competences, ?Belief in a Just World? and stigmatizing behaviours integrating Law and Psychology findings. Applied Social Psychology is the theoretical frame for this investigation, as HIV/AIDS is socially and culturally associated to stigma, defined as social prejudice and discriminatory behaviours against people living with this condition. Psychological Evaluation will provide ecologically validated psychometric tests specially designed for this study. Results from this research will help to understand and increase the current knowledge about the psychosocial and emotional factors that promote and maintain stigmatizing behaviours in people not living with HIV/AIDS and felt stigma in people living with this condition. Results of this investigation will be useful to reduce social stigma against HIV/AIDS, contributing to more effective preventive actions and an improvement of quality of life and treatment for people living with this condition.
