que no se requiere el reconocimiento facial de estados emocionales;
y 3) si existe correlación entre el procesamiento
emocional y la toma de decisiones sociales.
Resumen en Inglés:
Emotional recognition and its relationship with social
cognition in patients with the frontal variant of Frototemporal
Dementia.
Alterations in Social Cognition – referring
to the capacities of Theory of Mind (TOM) and to social
decision-making – have been reported, and to a lesser
degree, in the basic emotional face recognition, in the
frontal variant of Frontotemporal Dementia (fvFTD). These
findings have been related to the characteristic behavioral
symptomatology of this condition. The general objective
of this research is to explain the relationship between
basic or primary emotional face recognition and Social Cognition
in patients with fvFTD. To achieve this, this research will
be focussed on: 1) whether these patients present alterations
in the basic emotional face recognition; 2) whether basic
emotional face recognition correlates with TOM, specifically
with a) facial recognition of emotional states inferable
from TOM, b) TOM tasks in which facial recognition of emotional
states are not required; and 3) whether emotional processing
and social decision-making correlate.
