tres variables: TDA, Adolescencia, Eje Sexualidad- Género.
Sexual behavior and gender in female adolescents with eating disorders.
This research takes place in the “Prevention, Assistance and Research Program
in Female Adolescents Problems” and integrates with the UBACyT 2001-2002
project “Detection of the family-group interaction pattern and prevention
of the antisocial and self-destructive behavior in adolescents” the Subprogram
of Clinical Psychology for Adolescents -directed by Dr. S. Quiroga- inserted into
the Community Psychology Assistance Program of the School of Psychology of University
of Buenos Aires, South Region-Avellaneda.
Eating Disorders are frequent during adolescence and they are linked to female
gender (see pages: 13-14). Due to the lack of empirical investigations founded
in our country on this subject, this project has the following objectives: 1st)
To examine the relationship between Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and
Gender-Sexual Behavior in female adolescents; 2nd) to study the regularities of
specific sexual behavior typical of each disorder or in common; 3rd) to confirm
la connection between those disorders and self-destructive behavior and 4th) to
detect behavior patterns of possible risks’ groups for building politics
of prevention.
The research will be divided in two phases: one epidemical and the other one clinical
(see pages 16-17). The universe of analysis will be formed by 80 female between
16 and 25 years old with Eating Disorders patients of the Subprogram Clinical
Psychology for Adolescents, South Region Avellaneda. The control group will be
formed by 50 female adolescents with similar sociodemographic conditions but without
eating disorders.
