Resumen:

El presente Plan de Trabajo se propone realizar una investigación de carácter histórico sobre el devenir de la medición en Psicología en Argentina durante el período comprendido entre 1874 y 1960. Para ello, se propone analizar su origen y los desarrollos producidos en el plano internacional a fin de establecer relaciones que permitan comprender y explicar la complejidad de dicho proceso. Enmarcado en un Proyecto UBACyT que aborda la constitución disciplinar de la Psicología en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, se indagará el momento histórico en que surgen la Psicología Experimental, la Psicotecnia, la Psicometría y la evaluación psicológica, la problemática a la que responden y las concepciones epistemológicas implícitas. Luego, se buscará documentar el inicio y desarrollo de la medición en Psicología en el ámbito local con el objeto de ubicar encuentros y desencuentros en la recepción de estos saberes psicológicos internacionales. Finalmente, se indagará el desarrollo de la medición psicológica en países sudamericanos a fin de establecer similitudes y diferencias que permitan señalar la especificidad del proceso en Argentina. Respecto de la metodología, se trata de un estudio de carácter historiográfico clasificado como ex post facto retrospectivo de diseño correlacional no empírico.

FROM EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY TO PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT: A HISTORICAL STUDY ON THE CASE OF ARGENTINA AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SOUTH AMERICA, UNITED STATES, GERMANY, FRANCE AND ENGLAND (1874-1960)

This Work Plan intends to carry out a historical research about the evolution of the measurement in Argentinian Psychology on the period between 1874 and 1960. For this purpose, it is proposed to analyze its origin and the developments produced at international level in order to establish relations that allow understanding and explaining the complexity of that process. As part of an UBACyT Project that addresses the disciplinary constitution of Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires, it will investigate the historical moment in which Experimental Psychology, Psychotechnic, Psychometrics and projective instruments of psychological assessment arise, the problematic that each responds and the epistemological conceptions implicit in each case. Then, it will seek to document the beginning and development of the measurement in Psychology at the local level in order to locate agreements and disagreements in the reception of this international psychological knowledge. Finally, the development of measurement in Psychology in other South American countries will be investigated in order to establish similarities and differences that allow indicating the specificity of the process in Argentina. Regarding the methodology, it is a study of historiographic character classified as ex post facto retrospective of non-empirical correlational design.
