Recovery clinical history of Psychiatry and psychoanalysis. Towards a clinical categorization of female homosexuality
Female homosexuality is an ambiguous category in psychoanalytic clinical practice.
It has been the object of numerous debates raging from its inclusion in the
field of perversion in classical psychiatry to its current definition as just
a form of sexual orientation. Due to this fact, the term has lost its clinic
specificity in the realm of psychiatry and psychoanalysis. Thus, this research
project aims to review clinical histories in order to present the history of
pathographic accounts that can disclose the fundamentals underlying psychoanalytic
and psychiatric theory and practice. It is worth noting that each case contains
unique, non standard information on the specific coordinates of its subjective
history. A thorough study of the clinical material intends to discern the conceptual
tools that outline each case thus providing findings on the issues of diagnoses,
treatment, clinical evolution. and treatment allowing at the same time make
distinctions, studying the differences and facilitate comparisons between the
histories clinical Psychiatry and psychoanalysis.
