significaciones pertenecientes a nuestro universo social.
The relationship between child and the toy-object: a study of the representation

The toy is a privileged object to approach different problems of the bond between
the child and its world and we are interested in it as an object produce by
adults for children because it takes place in the process of production and
transmission of significance that belongs to our social universe We intend to
investigate the toy as a carrier of multiple significance outside the child's
game. We will center ourselves in the complex bond between the object toy, as
a significant social production, and the child to explore the characteristics
of the image and impact of technological developments that have at the present
time with the changes of space-time category. We start from asking ourselves
what are the representations that the children have of their toys and games.
What constructions they make of their toy universe and what categories are proposed
by the current toys. In this perspective it is of special interest to think
how the virtuosity that characterize the computer games and video games supports
and takes part in the representation of the child's game. We propose an exploratory
investigation, in this way, through interviews with children and an analysis
of those stories.
