Abstract:
CURRENT PROSPECTS OF THE PROCESSES SUPPORTING CHILD RESILIENCE
Several theories on resilience and the mechanisms on which this process is based are hereby presented as a synthesis. An abstract on different positions is put forward in order to understand this phenomenon as a dynamic process dependent on internal and external factors which, at interacting upon risk , permit confronting adverse situations. The exchange of these mechanisms leads to positive adaptation, and that is the possibility to continue with development or at least some aspects of it. Thus, the role of attachment, social competences and self-concept are higlighted as internal factors feeding resilience. Likewise, the biological view is included mainly as a contribution of neuropsicology. Finally, contextual factors are presented as an issue to be analyzed from the human development model of Urie Bronfenbrenner.
