El saber de Ellen West: melancolía, anorexia y cuerpo

RESUMEN
El presente trabajo de inserta en el marco de la tesis de maestría “Perturbaciones a nivel de la imagen en la anorexia mental” (UBACyT-TE) y se propone abordar ciertas coordenadas que consideramos ineludibles sobre la clínica de la anorexia mental. Desde una perspectiva psicoanalítica orientada por la enseñanza de Lacan, llevamos a cabo una relectura del caso de Ellen West, paciente del psiquiatra L. Binswanger. Tomamos dicho material clínico en vías de interrogar la relación entre el diagnóstico, los síntomas y la dimensión del cuerpo. En un primer momento, delimitamos el marco de interlocución entre la psiquiatría fenomenológica y el psicoanálisis, en un segundo momento abordamos las variables cuerpo y anorexia en su interrelación con diagnóstico diferencial para en un apartado de cierre, exponer las conclusiones obtenidas y líneas de investigación ulteriores.

ABSTRACT
Ellen West´s knowledge: melancholy, anorexia and the body
This work is inserted in the framework of the master´s thesis "Disturbances at the image level in mental anorexia" (UBACyT-TE) and it is proposed to address certain coordinates that we consider unavoidable on the clinic of mental anorexia. From a psychoanalytic perspective guided by Lacan´s teaching, we carry out a rereading of the case of Ellen West, a patient of the psychiatrist L. Binswanger. We take such clinical material in order to interrogate the relationship between diagnosis, symptoms, and body size. In a first moment, we delimited the framework of dialogue between phenomenological psychiatry and psychoanalysis, in a second moment we addressed the variables of body and anorexia in their interrelation with differential diagnosis to, in a closing section, present the conclusions obtained and lines of further research.
