Abstract:
Framed in a major comparative research, this study introduces a psychometric analysis of Raven´s Standard Progressive Matrices, developed in a sample composed of 571 Argentinian adolescent subjects (8th graders of both sexes, age= 13.28; Sx = .75), from Buenos Aires city. The parcticipants were included into one of three groups of comparison, examined in 1988, 1993 and 1998, respectively. Factorial structures and psychometric properties are analyzed. A short version of the scale is compared with the original 60-item version. Results suggest the importance of carrying out future investigations on eductive ability and its dimensions.
