TP30. Aproximación Empírica al Estudio de la Inferencia Clínica: Semejanzas y Diferencias en el Accionar Clínico de Psicoterapeutas con Diferentes Enfoques Teóricos y Niveles de Experiencia.

A pesar de su importancia, son escasos los estudios sistemáticos acerca del proceso inferencial clínico en psicoterapia. El propósito de este proyecto es investigar semejanzas y diferencias en el proceso inferencial clínico de psicoterapeutas que trabajan con diferentes modelos teóricos (psicoanálisis, psicoterapia cognitivo-comportamental y psicoterapia sistémica) y que tienen diferentes niveles de experiencia profesional (más de 20 años y menos de 10 años). Un grupo de 30 terapeutas escuchará el audio de una entrevista inicial de un tratamiento psicoterapéutico sobre la cual producirán sus inferencias clínicas. Una de las hipótesis propuestas es que habrá diferencias significativas en la naturaleza de las inferencias clínicas de los psicoterapeutas dependiendo del enfoque teórico y/o de nivel de experiencia profesional. Otra hipótesis que se contrastará es que no habrá diferencias significativas entre los terapeutas en relación al momento de enunciación de su primera hipótesis clínica sobre el material del paciente (antes de transcurrir los primeros 10 minutos de la entrevista). Se estudiará también una posible relación entre los momentos en el material del paciente referido a los cuales los psicoterapeutas seleccionan indicios y elaboran sus hipótesis y la actividad referencial y los patrones emoción-abstracción que caracterizan el discurso del paciente (Modelo de los Ciclos Terapéuticos, Mergenthaler y Bucci).

Empirical study on clinical inference: similarities and differences in the clinical work of psychotherapists with different theoretical approaches and levels of experience.

Despite its importance, there are only few systematic studies dealing with the ways in which psychotherapists work with and construct their hypotheses about the material offered by their patients. In this respect, the purpose of this project is to investigate similarities and differences in clinical inference of psychotherapists, according to their: a) theoretical stance: psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral psychoterapy and systemic psychotherapy; and b) level of professional experience: more than 20 years and less than 10 years of clinical practice. A group of 30 psychotherapists will listen to a tape recorded initial interview of a therapeutic treatment in order to produce their clinical inferences. It is hypotesized that the psychotherapists' theoretical approach and level of professional experience will account for significant differences in the nature of their clinical inferences. It is also expected that there will not be significant differences among psychotherapists regarding the moment in which they enunciate their first clinical hypothesis about the patient's material (within the first 10 minutes). Besides, possible connections between the moments in the patient´s discourse from which the therapists select cues to elaborate their clinical inferences and the referential activity and emotion-abstraction patterns that characterize the patient's discourse ( Therapeutic Cycles Model , Mergenthaler & Bucci), will be explored.
