La analogía en el contexto de justificación. Examen en base a introducción a la epistemología genética.

RESUMEN

El objetivo de este artículo es examinar la función de la analogía en la justificación de la hipótesis de Jean Piaget acerca de la equivalencia de los mecanismos cognoscitivos (coordinación y descentración) en el plano ontogenético y filogenético. Se realizó un abordaje teórico-documental del capítulo cuarto del trabajo Introducción a la epistemología genética (1975 [1950]), dedicado al estudio de las nociones cinemáticas y mecánicas. El foco del análisis estuvo puesto en el examen de las propiedades estructurales de la analogía entre psicogénesis e historia de la ciencia. Para ello, se recuperaron las categorías del modelo de las analogías múltiples. Este examen permitió distinguir diversos niveles de análisis integrados en la analogía, en particular, una vertiente diacrónica y otra vertiente sincrónica. Se sugiere también que la analogía en el contexto de justificación de hipótesis se caracteriza por su alto grado de sistematicidad y por el reforzamiento mutuo de sus propiedades estructurales.

ABSTRACT

Analogy in the context of justification. An exam based on introduction à l’épistémologie génétique.

The aim of this paper is to examine the function of analogy in the justification of Jean Piaget’s hypothesis on the equivalence of the cognitive mechanisms (coordination and decentration) in the ontogenetic and phylogenetic domain. We conducted a theoretic-documental analysis on the fourth chapter of Introduction à l’épistémologie génétique (1950), dedicated to the study of cinematic and mechanic notions. The focus of the analysis was set onto examining the structural properties of the analogy between psychogenesis and history of science. To this end, we resorted to categories from the multiple analogies model. This analysis allowed us to distinguish different levels of analysis integrated into this analogy, in particular, a diachronic and synchronic domain. It is also suggested that analogy in the context of justification of hypotheses is characterized by its high degree of systematicity and by the mutual reinforcement of its structural properties.
