History and function of freudian translations

RESUMEN


Palabras clave: This paper starts with a spanish tranlations history of Freud`s works. The function and place of each one will be identify. Its features, its goals and its weakness are analyzed, and a discussion of them is proposed. This paper is against definitive, ultimately or standardized editions, and it states that translations could be thought as a reading work, and therefore they must be abided at its rules: to start from an engagement, not to think itself as the only possible, nor fully close, and to respect the text from which they are departed. Moreover, some criterions for possible actual revisions of Freud's work translations are proposed, and the value of reading Freud is portulated as a recreation of the inaugural analytical experience.

SUMMARY
El trabajo comienza con una historia de las traducciones al español de las obras de Freud, situando la función y el lugar que ha ocupado cada una de ellas. Analiza sus características, sus aciertos y sus puntos débiles, y plantea ponerlas en discusión. Considera estéril la pretensión de plantear ediciones definitivas, últimas o estandarizadas, y postula que las traducciones pueden pensarse como una lectura de la obra, y que por lo tanto deben atenerse a las reglas de una lectura: partir de un compromiso, no pensarse como la única posible, ni como absolutamente cerrada, y respetar el texto del que parte. Adicionalmente se proponen algunos criterios para las revisiones posibles de las traducciones de la obra de Freud en la actualidad, y se postula que el valor de leer a Freud pasa por recrear lo inaugural de la experiencia analítica.
