TP58. Percepción Social de la Salud Mental.

1) La Representación de la Salud Mental en el Ambito del Poder Judicial y la Clase Politica de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y de la Ciudad de Viedma. Un Estudio Comparativo (PSSM2 y PSSM2V);
2) Representaciones Sociales y Salud Mental en el Contexto Sociosanitario de la Ciudad de Viedma. Un Estudio Longitudinal (PSSM3).

El Programa "Percepción Social de la Salud Mental" (1987/1997) ha desarrollado estudios exploratorios y descriptivos en dos contextos socio-sanitarios: Ciudad de Viedma y Ciudad de Buenos Aires. De la lectura integral de sus resultados y a la luz de los debates recurrentes acerca del diseño y sanción de una Ley Nacional de Salud Mental focalizamos la reconstrucción de las representaciones sociales en los sectores que poseen mayor poder de imposición simbólica de valores de salud mental: Poder Judicial y Clase Política. Al no existir un concepto jurídico o político unitario, se hizo necesario, en primer lugar, comenzar a indagar mediante una encuesta de diseño cuali-cuantitativo la presencia implícita y operativa de definiciones y concepciones de salud mental en tales sub-poblaciones de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (PSSM2-1997). En segundo lugar, los avances de la alternativa rionegrina, referente avanzado de las llamadas políticas de desmanicomialización, sugieren:

a) incorporar al estudio los grupos homólogos de la Ciudad de Viedma (PSSM2V) y, b) replicar la Encuesta Social PSSM1-Viedma-1992 con el objetivo de evaluar el eventual proceso de transformaciones representacionales que se estén operando en tal comunidad debido a la institucionalización de las nuevas prácticas (PSSM3).

Se proponen pues tres líneas de investigación: comparativa inter e intragrupos; comparativa interurbana; comparativa intraurbana.

1) Representation of Mental Health in the Sphere of the Judiciary and of the Political Class of the City of Buenos Aires and the City of Viedma. Comparative Research (SPMH2 and SPMH2V);
2) Social Representations and Mental Health within the Social and Health Context of the City of Viedma. Longitudinal Research (SPMH3).

The Program on "Social Perception of Mental Health" (1987/1997) has conducted exploratory and descriptive research within two social and health contexts: the City of Viedma (Province of Rio Negro) and the City of Buenos Aires. On the basis of the integral reading of its results and in the light of the recurrent debates on the design and enactment of a new National Law on Mental Health, we focused on the reconstruction of social representations in those sectors having a greater power of symbolic imposition of mental health values: the Judiciary and the Political Class. As there existed no unitary legal or political concept, first, it was necessary to start investigating, through a survey having a qualitative and quantitative design, the implicit and operating presence of definitions and conceptions on mental health in said sub-populations of the City of Buenos Aires (SPMH2-1997).

In the second place, the progress of the Rio Negro alternative, advanced reference point of the deinstitutionalization policies, has suggested:

a) incorporating homologous groups of the City of Viedma (SPMH2V) to the research and

b) reproducing Social Survey SPMH1-Viedma-1992, in order to evaluate the eventual process of representational transformations which are taking place in that community due to the institutionalization of new practices (SPMH3). Thus, three research lines have been proposed: comparative inter and intragroups; comparative interurban; comparative intraurban.
