Resumen:
La presente investigación se enmarca dentro de una disciplina reciente, la “Psiconeonatología” en su intersección con los aportes de la Evaluación Psicológica; desde un enfoque integrativo. Es motivada por la necesidad de estudiar los procesos familiares implicados en la internación de un bebé pretérmino en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales (UCIN). Específicamente se intentará profundizar en el estudio de las variables involucradas en el afrontamiento de la internación de un hijo pretérmino en la UCIN como crisis vital y de los mecanismos resilientes que permiten a la familia superar dicha adversidad. Dado que existe un vacío investigativo en esta área, será relevante analizar, no sólo las características específicas de las familias que deben afrontar este estresor, sino también, a los niños que habiendo nacido pretérmino debieron ser internados en la UCIN. Este estudio buscará asimismo, realizar un aporte metodológico e instrumental, que incluirá la construcción de una técnica psicométrica para operacionalizar la resiliencia familiar, entendida como los procesos de superación y adaptación que tienen lugar en la familia como sistema funcional.

Family Resilience: A study about of Vital Crisis Coping: The Preterm Newborn in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The current research project is framed within psychoneonatology, a recent discipline, in its conjunction with the contributions given by the Psychological Evaluation, using an integrative approach. The purpose of this study is to evaluate familiar processes involved in the Neonaltal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hospitalization of a preterm newborn. Specifically, a deep study of the variables implicated in the coping of a NICU hospitalization of a newborn son, considering this situation as a vital crisis, along with resilience mechanisms that allow the family to overcome this adversity, will be attempted. Since there is a research emptiness in this field, it will be important to analyze specific characteristics of the families coping this stressor, together with those of the children hospitalized in the NICU by their preterm condition. Additionally, this study will attempt to make a methodological and instrumental contribution, including the construction of a psychometric technique to manage familiar resilience, understanding it as the overcoming and adaptation processes that take place in the family as functional unit.
