En la vida cotidiana evaluamos el valor de una recompensa no sólo por sus propiedades absolutas sino también en función de la comparación que establecemos con otros refuerzos que están o estuvieron disponibles en situaciones similares. Este proceso de comparación puede ser modulado por distintos factores. El objetivo general del proyecto consiste en evaluar si tratamientos que incrementan o disminuyen el valor del incentivo de un refuerzo modifican las respuestas posteriores ante la devaluación de una recompensa en procedimientos consumatorios. Este tipo de manipulaciones posee relevancia en el estudio de tratamientos dirigidos a disminuir las respuestas emocionales asociadas a la reducción y abandono de reforzadores, por ejemplo en el tratamiento de conductas adictivas y el mantenimiento de la abstinencia. Los objetivos específicos incluyen: 1 - Evaluar el efecto que tiene el estado motivacional de los animales en la adquisición del consumo de un reforzador (e.g., 32% de agua azucarada) sobre su posterior devaluación (e.g., 4% de la misma solución); 2? Evaluar el efecto que tiene el estado motivacional de los animales al momento de la devaluación de un reforzador (e.g., 32% de agua azucarada a 4%) sobre la respuesta ante dicha devaluación.

MOTIVATIONAL FACTOS INVOLVED IN THE FRUSTRATION RESPONSES IN RATS

Everyday we assess the value of rewards not only for their absolute properties but also in terms of the comparison we make with other reinforcements that are or were available in similar situations. This comparison process can be modulated by many factors. The general objective of the project is to assess whether treatments that increase or decrease the incentive value of a reinforcement modify subsequent responses to the reward devaluation using consummatory procedures. This type of manipulation has relevance in the study of treatments aimed at reducing emotional responses associated with the reduction and cessation of reinforcers consumption, for example in the treatment of addictive behavior and maintaining abstinence. Specific objectives include: 1 - Evaluate the motivational state effect during the acquisition of the consumption of a reinforcer (e.g., 32% sucrose solution) on its subsequent devaluation (e.g., 4% of the same solution); 2 - Evaluate the motivational state effect of the animals at the time of the devaluation of a reinforcer (e.g., 32% to 4 % sucrose solution) on the response to such devaluation.
