Investigaciones actuales han señalado que el tercer motivo de consulta más frecuente refiere a problemas en la vida amorosa.
La forma en la que se concibe el amor en la experiencia psicoanalítica es lo que Freud definió bajo el título de transferencia, destinada a ser el máximo escollo, así como también, el principal auxiliar de la técnica. Desde entonces la transferencia presenta una paradoja: ella constituye un amor que viene a desengañar al sujeto de aquellos espejismos del amor que sostienen una promesa de completud imposible por estructura.
El amor de transferencia ofrece un terreno privilegiado para revelar el encuentro con lo pulsional que está en su origen y que condiciona las elecciones de partenaires, - construyendo la serie de objetos sustitutos que vienen a suplir la falta estructural del Otro.
Así, el propósito de esta investigación se orienta a interrogar la dimensión de un amor que implica un saber-hacer lazo con la falta del Otro en lugar de velarla; que se apoya en una certeza y no en coordenadas ilusorias; que se funda en un acto de elección que toma del Otro su deseo, en oposición a la repetición que afecta al amor sostenido en las garantías del Otro.

Chance, determination and freedom in object-choice: the dimension of certainty in love.
Current research has shown that the third most frequent cause of consultation is problems in the love life.
The way love is conceived within the analytic experience is what Freud defined as transference, which is both the maximum obstacle and the technique’s main aid.
Since then, transference has presented a paradox: it represents a love that serves to disillusion the subject about those mirages of love which hold a promise of an structurally impossible completeness.
Transference love is an exceptional Área in which to reveal the encounter with the drive, which is in its origin and conditions the choice of partenaires –as the series of substitutive objects serving to stand in for the Other’s structural lack.
The intention of this research, therefore, is oriented towards questioning the dimension of a love that entails a know-how to bond with the Other’s lack instead of masking it; based on a certainty and not on illusory coordinates; founded on an act of choice that takes its desire from the Other -contrary to the repetition that affects the love sustained by the Other’s guarantee.
