Tema en Castellano: El rol de la promoción de la toma de notas,
el establecimiento de conexiones causales y la generación de inferencias elaborativas
en la comprensión del discurso oral y escrito.
Resumen del Tema: El objetivo de este estudio es examinar el efecto de
la conectividad causal del enunciado, el tipo de toma notas y la modalidad de
presentación del material en el establecimiento de conexiones causales entre enunciados
e inclusión de elaboraciones en las notas tomadas por los estudiantes. Con este
fin, se evaluará a 48 estudiantes de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, los cuales
serán aleatoriamente asignados a la condición de toma de notas (enfocadas en la
identificación de emociones del hablante?enfocadas en la identificación de ideas
principales) y a la modalidad de presentación del material (oral ? escrita). A
partir de las notas tomadas por los estudiantes, se analizará el establecimiento
de conexiones causales entre los enunciados incluidos y la inclusión de elaboraciones
a partir de enunciados que formaban parte del material. Se espera que aquellos
estudiantes que tomen nota de las ideas principales, y lean el material, establezcan
un mayor número de conexiones causales entre enunciados en sus notas que aquellos
que lo escuchen. A su vez, se espera que aquellos estudiantes que tomen nota de
las emociones de los hablantes y escuchen el material incluyan un mayor número
de elaboraciones en las notas que aquellos que lo lean.

taking, the establishment of causal connections and the generation of elaborative
inferences in the comprehension of spoken and written discourse.
Tema en ingles: The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the
causal connectivity of the statement, the type of note taking and the modality
of presentation of the material on the establishment of causal connections and
the inclusion of elaborations in the notes. With this aim, 48 college students
at the University of Buenos Aires will be evaluated, and will be randomly assigned
to a note taking condition (focused on the main ideas on the material - focused
on the speakers? emotions) and the modality of presentation of the material (spoken
? written). The establishment of causal connections among statements and the inclusion
of elaborations in the notes will be analyzed. We expect that those students that
take notes of the main ideas and read the material will establish a higher number
of causal connections between statements in their notes, in comparison to the
students who listen to it. We also expect that those who take notes of the emotions
of the speaker and listen to the material will include a higher number of elaborations
in their notes than those who read the material.
