RESUMEN
El presente trabajo se inicia destacando la ruptura revolucionaria que surge con el saber de la ciencia newtoniana. Se resalta la importancia decisiva que Lacan le atribuye al lenguaje matemático en el fenómeno de la gravitación universal. Se abordan algunos conceptos centrales de Principios matemáticos de la filosofía natural conectándolos con la perspectiva del pensamiento psicoanalítico. Asimismo, se remarcan las diferencias inconciliables entre Descartes y Newton en el tratamiento del fenómeno gravitacional. A su vez, se menciona que la realización de Principia fue un acto mayor que produjo inmensas consecuencias y efectos, no solamente en la comunidad científica sino también en el Otro de la cultura en general. Finalmente, se señalan numerosas cuestiones relevantes que quedan abiertas a una futura investigación.

SUMMARY
This work begins by highlighting the revolutionary rupture that arises with the knowledge of Newtonian science. The decisive importance that Lacan attributes to mathematical language in the phenomenon of universal gravitation is highlighted. We deal with some central concepts of Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, connecting them with the perspective of psychoanalytic thinking. Likewise, the irreconcilable differences between Descartes and Newton in the treatment of the gravitational phenomenon are highlighted. On the same time, the realization of Principia, was a major act that produced immense consequences and effects, not only in the scientific community but also on the Other of the general culture. Finally, numerous relevant questions are pointed out that remain open to future research.
